LASER SKIN TIGHTENING
Our Palomar Deep IR fractional laser is the newest, state-of-the-art technology in skin tightening. This is perfect for patients who want to avoid the downtime associated with surgery. This non invasive technology uses infra red heat to stimulate collagen in the deep dermis and hypo dermis to produce tighter more youthful looking skin. Our Deep IR is able to achieve deep dermal heating without damaging the surface due to its advanced cooling system which cools the surface of the skin in several stages. It is far superior to older technologies which use RF (radio frequency) such as Thermage. The cooling allows higher energies to be used which penetrate deeper into the skin for impressive results.
The Palomar Trilux process combines IPL photofacial, fractional laser resurfacing and deep infra red skin tightening for a total skin rejuvenation package which produces the best results.

Columns of infrared light create islands of deep heating in the dermis while preserving the epidermis.
Who is a good candidate for skin tightening?
Anyone with mild to moderate skin laxity – especially if the skin is thin.
What else can be treated?
Palomar Deep IR fractional skin tightening can be used anywhere on the body. Loose skin in the neck and jowl area as well as laxity of the abdomen and the under arm skin are frequently requested sites.
How long does this procedure take?
The skin tightening procedure can take anywhere between a few minutes to an hour, depending on the area to be treated.
What are the treatments like?
First the skin is cooled, then the infra-red heat is applied. You can expect to feel a gradual heating of the treated area, then cooling is applied again. This protects the surface of the skin and also allows more effective penetration of the infra-red light. The procedure is considered to be comfortable by most patients.
When will I see results?
The results are seen in two phases. The initial phase consists of tightening of the collagen that is already present. This result is seen immediately! The second phase occurs more slowly as the body initiates a natural wound healing response and creates new collagen which provides long term tightening. You can expect to see improvement for 4-6 months after your last treatment.
How many treatments are needed?
You can expect to see results after just 1 treatment, however, 3-6 treatments at 2-4 weeks apart are recommended for best results.
When can I resume my normal activities?
There is absolutely no downtime associated with this procedure. You may experience some mild redness of the treated area but this usually resolves in a few hours. You can return to your normal activities immediately, although a sunscreen should be used.
