Our Philosophy
Avenue Advanced Skin Care has been established adjacent to, and under the medical supervision of, Avenue Plastic Surgery. We continually seek to provide an unparallel standard of care for our patients. Under the supervision of one of Victoria's most experienced plastic surgeons, we aim to provide the best in skin care in a medical environment.
At Avenue Advanced Skin Care we recognize that our skin has a most important role. Not only is it our body's largest organ designed to protect us from the elements but also our skin reveals whether we are hot or cold, tired or rested, sick or healthy. Our skin makes a most important first impression for us. As we age, our skin changes in response to the environment, particularly the sun. The skin is affected by many conditions ranging from acne, scarring, pigmented blemishes, red vascular lesions and even skin cancer. Our skin deserves the best care and maintenance that we can provide.

We are committed to providing our patients with the latest and safest skin treatments. We were the first to introduce the Palomar Starlux IPL Machine for hair removal and Photo-Facial skin rejuvenation. This has since been voted the number 1 in the world. We were the first to introduce the LUX-R Head which enables us to treat all skin types and even sun tanned skin. We were the first in Australia to introduce the latest generation Fractional Laser for non ablative skin resurfacing. We were the first to introduce the Silk Peel Dermal Infusion - the next generation in "micro dermabrasion". Our exclusive Cosmedics and Results RX range of products are regarded as "world best" and are available only under medical supervision. Our principal therapist, Kate Giozellis, has travelled and worked in a number of leading centres in Paris and New York. She has received multiple awards and is, arguably, Australia's leading Skin Therapist.

Kate Giouzellis
Member of Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists
After studying at The Sorbonne University in Paris, Kate Giouzellis practiced beauty therapy in Paris, throughout Europe and in the United States before furthering her studies in Paramedical and Advanced Aesthetics.
As well as post graduate training in beauty therapy with Jean Gatineau in Paris and at Labiana école d'esthétique de Paris, Kate went on to obtain a teaching degree in deportment, styling and self-improvement. Kate also studied at the Art and Professional make-up school of Jean Pierre Fleurimon. Subsequently Kate worked in European television with both French/Canadian and Chanel Plus Television in Paris as well as with film and theatre. Kate has applied her specialist skills with Yves St. Laurent fashion shows in Paris and, upon her return to Australia, taught at the Victorian College, Melbourne. Kate is also trained and educated in the chemistry of cosmetics and anti-ageing.
Kate believes that, although most skin care programmes will improve your skin, medical skin care products deliver far stronger ingredients in a controlled fashion resulting in a faster and more therapeutic result.
Kate's aim is to bridge the gap between medicine and skin care. She specialises in highly effective treatments designed to reverse the signs of ageing and to treat problematic skin. A consultation with Kate will ensure the correct selection and delivery of safe, quality skin care products and result in a skin care programme tailored to suit your individual needs.
Kate also is an expert in the use of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) for hair removal, the treatment of pigmented patches, telangiectasia and problem skin including acne scarring. Kate has expertise in the use of new technologies including the Fractional Laser and has received multiple rewards in recognition of her knowledge and skill.
Michelle Casey
Michelle has a Diploma in Health Sciences (Beauty Therapy) from Victoria University.
Michelle also holds Advanced Certificates in Laser Hair Removal, Microdermabrasion and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) photo rejuvenation for the treatment of rosacea (redness) and pigmentation. She has also successfully treated patients with acne scarring, utilising the most advanced laser technology.
Certified by several leading cosmetic and skin care houses, Michelle has the knowledge and experience to analyse the skin of each individual and to prescribe the most effective treatment. Michelle is a qualified makeup artist with years of experience in special occasion makeup.
Michelle's 16 years of professional experience is diverse and extensive, ranging from working in a leading dermatology practice with patients experiencing severe skin conditions, to working as a Beauty Therapist / Trainer on luxury cruise liners from New York to Bermuda. Michelle looks forward to bringing you the benefit of her skills and experience.
Tracy Birch
Tracy is our charming Office Manager and part of our reception team! She will endeavour to ensure that we always meet, or exceed, your expectations in a discreet and comfortable environment.
Esma Hubanic
Esma is part of our delightful reception team. She is a qualified beauty therapist and has a thorough understanding of your skin's requirements. Esma is able to offer initial advice on all our skin care treatments and products. She looks forward to meeting you!
